June and July in West Virginia

After staying a few days at Coopers Rock State Forest in mid June we traveled over the Appalachian Mountains to Inwood, WV for a few days at Natasha’s Mom’s place, then back over the Mountains to friends Family Farm in Brandonville, WV where ended up staying for five weeks! One reason for returning to West Virginia in June was for Oglebay Institutes Family Weekend at their Terra Alta, WV Mountain Camp, Natasha was the Director. We tent camped there, no way we were getting our fifth wheel in to this place. The Family Camp was a lot of fun and a real success with 27 participants.

The family farm where we stayed in Brandonville is the summer home of our friends Sebastian and Andrea and their two girls. Brandonville is just 20 minutes from Morgantown and was a convenient location to make several doctor visits, and catch up with family and friends. While on the farm we tried to make ourselves useful: mowing, cleaning out a barn and garage and building a trail. Willa and Jon played with their two girls day after day and everyone got along so well. We so enjoyed our time with Andrea and Sebastian – relaxing times on their back porch, evenings around the fire, lounging under the apple trees. and grand conversation. Andrea and Sebastian may have thought we would never leave and we certainly did not want to!
